just ordered the slates, batons, felt etc....to complete the garage roof as its not built yet lol.

get that done then put the floor in it, then i can start on the escort.

no rush with it,just something to mess with when i have the time....fook knows if i will though.

keep me informed on your car.

lol my car has no gearbox in there at the mo, but it will have a T5 in there

Andy kept the engine and box when I got the car but I ended up with that shifter amongst all the other boxed spares. I already had a engine and box so I didn't need another

oh and Dave you have still probably made more progress with yours then I have in 9 months The Cannonball slowed the project down a little lol

i have most of all the main bits now, engine, box ,loom etc...just going to start buying the bits to make it handle the power.

only the axel thats going to be the pain, i will hopefully get a 2.8 capri one with an lsd in,or put one in.

5 link, watts link etc.... all the rear.

never done much fabrication work myself so may have to get a few favours cashed in to get the work done.

just going to spend time/money on it when i have itso may take a while to complete.

Have you got a time for completion or it happens when it happens.

Same as me then really mate, I have a fair few bits together but sadly the next stage which is the quaife shafts, Mo's and AP's aint cheap at all!

Are you going arched ?

If not I have a narrowed Atlas with 4 link pickups etc..

I've just gone for some tarmac arches so will just use a full width axle I think

yes, got to go arches.

thats why i can use the capri axel.

how much power are you going to go for, will the quaife shafts be needed.

Fostek do shafts that are good as if not better than the quaife ones....so people say.

i'm nt going to spend stupid money on it as i have my other car to look after too

I'll be running around 380 off gas and nearer 500 on it.

I've read some very worrying stories about shafts breaking, I've not looked into how much the shafts are from Quaife but I'm sittign down if you want to tell me

Just been reading through Fosteks site and seen their shafts, I dont want to end up buying a set of them then breaking one and then going for Quaife stuff like Lee with the lovely Mk1 has had to.

This will be my only track car and I will keep it for years, I would rather do things right this once then I can just worry about engines and gearboxes in the future I hope

I just want to see a 10 sec 1/4 mate lol If I can leave it at that then I'll be happy. Nitrous though is just a drag thing, not interested in it for the track.

300 bhp on track will be plenty really but it doesn't hurt to have a bit more plus a few guys I go to trackdays with are running nearer 400 hp or more so I cant be left behind

Dingles seems to hold together well on track with how much hp

After looking round a freshly built group 4 car next to mine on thursday it has given me the push I needed to concentrate on getting it done.

There are some great ideas in those cars, sometimes not all that expensive but not things I would of considered doing myself so using the right people makes a lot of difference.

I'll get some pics up hopefully before crimbo

glad to see you have a goal to aim for.

your mate with more powerful cars don't help you either.

at least you are going for it big time, might aswell do it right while you are at it.
