Fuel hose question

Why does the original rubber fuel hose on the injector rail have the loops in it? do these wrap around anything? Since removing them off mine I can't remember how they went

they dont wrap around anything paul,ive always assumed they are there to allow for movement of the engine, so the fuel lines arent under any strain
