is it poss a injector can just give up,im runing gotech and cossie 803s i pulled no 3 intector plug off nd it did nowt,checked the plug and lead and it sparking

 

yes they can just pack up but a bit more info needed ie what was happening prior the problem normal driving or booting it does it have compression is it smoking that sort of thing

 

the car is set to a 4000 rev limit at the moment as it is getting run in ive tested the spark and injector an there fine,did a compression test an it is down on no 3 65 psi the other 3 cyilinders are 125psi,driving last night and hit the limiter in 3rd gear an just started doing it could it be down to a tapet you think?

 

That's quite a difference. It might be that a valve is sticking open but then it would backfire through one of the manifolds.

Other than that its got to be a head gasket, crack in the combustion chamber or failure of the compression rings.


What work have you had done to the engine? Was the spark plug clean in number 3 when you removed it? Is there any water in the oil or vice versa?

 

cheers for advice lads,took the rocker cover off and i found that one of the tappets had broken up,the whole cam kit is only 1000 miles old so ill be ringing kent in the morning,there suposed to be anti pump lifters but wot would it have done if it reved to 7000? might of made a mess
