Default Cone Filters/Air Boxes, I dont know.

I have just Bought a group A K&N filter for my 93 large turbo Escos, but have now heard varying reports on how good they are ie they suck in too much hot air and crap!!

Should I stick to the standard air box or change?

no....they suck warm air in when you are standing still with the car. but when you drive the car...there will be enough cold air under the hood.

Should there be a nipple on the trumpet to re locate the hose that used to go into the air box?

which one you have. the one with the aluminium trumpet. maybe you must buy an oil breather system.

okay...its the same stage i have. you could buy a small filter for the hose. or you could buy an oil seperator kit.

i am tempted to get a pannel filter but surley by letting more air through, the filter proccess must be worse, so resulting in wear on the turbos blades and cylinder bores?

i have had them in my non turbos but they are not forced induction like the turbos.

any opinions?

1 garage said just dont use a filter!!!! needless to say i did not take up his recomendation. he really thought it would do no harm!!

k and n and pipercross have put in a lot of money to make thoues fillters thers tested on wrc rally cars and they drive them hard and the dust condition ther put under i think that ther good for turbos and noramily asp engine i run 2bar on my cossy with a group a cone filter and nothing has gone bang the air box bering in mind can flow the same amount off air then a cone filter its only a space saving option for most big powere car that have all tanks every were and need to move things to gaine space
