ally is normally around Ł25-Ł35 a cwt, or Ł500-Ł700 a tonne.

varies a bit between scrap yards.

last thing i knew a few months ago ,was ally ( 90% pure) was fetching over Ł1000 a ton,
in december 2005 it was at Ł1057 a ton, so need a proper current site, as bone yards try and give you nothing for it, a metal recycler gives more than a scrap yard, just need a current value to make sure im not ripped off !!

Ł700 a ton, and im being ripped off

i looked at the reports for the whole of 2005 for the alumium market, the lowest it hit was just over Ł900 a ton, the highest was nearer to Ł1100

some people making alot of money buying it at Ł700 a ton

its pretty simple really, even old alloy wheels will make more in weigh in than there retail value - ive got 11 wheels for sale in the for sale section, the value as scrap is more than im trying to sell them for
to the smelt they go

alloy wheels will be worth less as they are an alloy and not pure alluminium.

they are a mixture of different alloys and not worth as much.
