best thing to do is go and get a leakdown test done on the cylinders, this will tell you if your head gasket is suspect....or you have a crack in the combustion chambre (head not block) it will show up as a leak...funnily enuf

if all is well with the leakdown then im afraid you have bigger problems....ie crack in ya block...

it can idle all day long and the temp wont go above halfway, there's no smoke from the exhaust, ans as said no sludge on dipstick or filler cap, just as soon as i give it 30psi it just shoots straight up but the only reason i can see this is because half of the coolant is being sprayed over the engine bay

booked in for a a test on sunday
fingers crossed

bloody car got a list of new parts to go on it as well, for even more power

head gasket fooked cylinder to water jacket... not enuf of a bang on idle to cause any pressurising of the water system, however on 30psi i would imagen its pushing past the break like mad.... good luck....and a comp test might not show it up if your car is ok on idle, what you really need is a 150psi air line and do a LEAKDOWN test..... this will tell you much more,,,

what you mean it isnt a driveway ornament? my god theres another person on this forum who drives their car like they should

Driving it "like it should" has probable fooked it!!!!

Revs kill engines fact

on turbocharged cars revs and or too much boost kill engines fact

so lay off the rev limiters and watch ya boost pressures

At the ring last week I set myself a rev limit of 5k still got round in similar times to more powerfull cars

still broke the car tho so what do I know!!!!!

mines the same no sludge on dipstick or oil cap, doesn't smoke or effect its drive. temps are fine as well

just uses coolant up & has a oil film on top, (and is discoloured, like oil is in the header tank)

does that just sound like head gasket or something more serious?

also whats sort of garage can i get a comp test done at?

that happens when the head bolts/studs cant keep the head on the block ,and thay sepererate, allowing the head gasket to leak on boost.

is it long studded? if so i would check who made the studs.
