£65 in 1p's and 2p's - its bloody heavy


Wheres the best place to get these weighy buttons converted to paper pleasure?

Asda.....they have a machine that you poor the coins into...it sorts it automatically then gives you a figure [and an option to donate to charity]

Good bit of kit

also doesnt it just give you a voucher for money off in store ?

Not the ones I've used...[if I remember correcty] paid out cash and took very little commision. Although it was a few years ago so it may have changed now.

Other than that I suppose its the bank

Sure asda takes something off the end sum, it gives out areceipt where you take it inside and a checkout assistant gives you cash

If you go to the bank they'll give you the nice little bags to put £1 worth in each... then take them into said bank and walk out with real money...



Alternatively - go do your weekly shopping then tip the lot over the tills

Saisburys have a coin master.

I think it takes 5% for charity, then prints out a receipt you take to the counter and redeem for cash or shopping.

Easy does it........ and you have done your bit for cancer research or childrens hospital.

Unfortunalty, and i dont know why, hassle i spose, but leagally cashiers are only supposed to accept up to 2 quid in coppers as payment for a purchase,

dunno if anyone can verify why though

Wouldnt that be great paying for your weekly shop in 1's and 2's, it would take the cashier longer to count it than it would for you to do the shopping

As you walk in the shop just say "here count this, ill be back in an hour"

I think you will find that the maximum legal tender in 1p and 2p's is 22p
