Default Quick cheap fix on changine exhaust pitch

does anyone now of a way i can change the pitch of the exhaust sound on my mk5 escort 94 1.6 zetec 16v jus as a temporary fx while i save up for a new sports back box. i want it to sound something like the old escort XR3i or old orion if you know what i mean.

i can do you a cheap savage tunable backbox for Ł50 notes plus postage if that helps you , brand new easy fit

Drill through the pipe and put a piece of this wire through it. secure either side. job done. You can even experiment with different thicknesses until you get a nice note that you like

have you got any exhausts a ikl bit cheaper am skint after doing work on the car lol or maybe a different way to change the note

were abouts do i drill through the pipe? does the wire have to be one core or wire such as electrical wire that is multi core?

If you want a different nise, punch a hole in the silencer.


I'd just wait and save up for a decent exhaust if I was you.

alot of scappys near me have been quite good for exhausts at the mo (powerflow, magnex, peco) sure there crap but you can get em cheap if you try.

on the outer skin of the back box you hacksaw 2 slits in the skin approx 3inches wide ten jig saw then edge of the slits so it becomes a flap then you pull the baffels out (not all of it tho)

but to be honest mate don't bother of i will award you a bodger of the year award
