Your main problem mate will be buying the cars ,,

I search every internet site / mag / paper and struggle to find enough cars , Most i do find are offered to me through adverts i have in mags / papers etc , so unless your happy tp spend about £600 a month on adverts as Pete and myself do then forget it mate ,

I have noticed a major drop in cars at the right price in the last 12 months , and with e/bay and bedroom traders it is getting harder by the day ,

If i had to start from scratch now i honestly wouldnt bother as it takes about 3 years to get up and running properly and i dont think there will be enough call for RS parts in another 2/3 years .

Good luck tho mate

Paul

exactly I have tons and tons of parts all cleaned boxed and ready to sell it would take years to collect this amount of stock,so its all there for you mate come and we can value the lot at retail money and then you pay me 50% cant get a better deal than that

If you bought cars just to keep the spares you would need tens of thousands of pounds to keep a good selection and i dont think anyone will buy that ampont just to have sat on the shelf just incase you need the odd part for a car your building or repairing

cheers paul its not going to be a big thing really that is going to be a small intrest we have to be honest i know the rs parts are not called for as much these day's but we will be buying and selling other motors anyway

we got rid of a mint rs turbo trim for £85 on ebay it really has gone down hill on these parts but no where locaol does thins like this anyway so it could be good or bad.

we are making a list of diffrent things we can do other than breaking any rs i find the market on the rs's going down myself this is why i said to my mate there is no point just breaking rs turbo's etc to many peaple are at it
we just need to buy some that need work and save them more than breaking them

I think the car world needs more good people that repair cars as there are plenty of rip off monkeys out there and us RS lovers like to leave our cars with somone we can trust and loves the rs name like we do , so i think if your serious about doing repairs etc you will do well as people will travel miles to leave there car with a decent bloke

i was thinking about doing body shells on there own ready stripped

when other peaple want the cars spraying thay want it done cheap but when things go wrong i get a shit name but it wouldnt be my fault so if i do go ahead and do this i will only tel them to buy the best stuff and pay the price and not to put the shit back at my face when things go wrong.

trust me mate its happend i said i was willing to do 2 parts of a car i done but after the owner had giving me payment not when thay had the car back and never payed me for doing it,

ive never been slagged of about my work and im well known by locals for what i do

Agreed. Do this, run on a shoe string budget by taking your time and making the perfect job using the finest paints and parts...to get yourself a good name. then charge a bit more cos people know youre the bollox

kinda Mine and Richards business plan and its working already. We have just taken a job over from someone due to the client realising we are the builders to have And its a big well payed job

Don't go into business with a mate. You wont be mates for long! Go on your own, tha way you are responsable for everything...... all the profit, but also all the cock ups.

ive been considering starting a business for a while and once i weigh it all up is it worth the headache, trouble about a garage is there is soooo much equipment i.e diognostics mot bay etc wish id of taken up plumbing!!

way i see it now my job pays a not too bad 25k a year plus i can earn a few grand a year on the side as i have a fair few of my own customers,so much easier this way.

but then i think i will regret it if i dont get a unit sorted
