And i was, for the first time since i startd reading it about 3years ago, disappointed. Am i the only person who thinks that recently the Ford scene is slipping back into the bodykitted boy racer image?
I understand its each to their own but does anyone agree with me?

sorry to the guys who make it -
but i havent bought one for ages as think they are majorly overpriced!
wouldnt say its slipping back to bodykits as there are still some major powered cars out there and still being made. maybe a few of the familiar faces on here selling up and buying m3's and similar making you feel the scene is fading?

I get a subscription each year but this year I'll be changing to Retro Ford......
I bought a 1991 copy of Fast Car the other week...... surprising how a mag can change over 15 years....

PF's bigest problem in my eyes has always been its distribution! (and that goes back to the Dennis Foy days!!) The local (large) WH Smiths no longer stocks it, and the garage is hit 'n' miss.
And no, I don't want to have to subscribe to any mag' to ensure I can get it.
The mag itself has evolved, as have most - it's all swings and roundabouts, and they can't please everybody all of the time.
There's only so many things that can be done with RST's, Cossies etc. which must surely make compiling the Ford mag's a difficult task.

My opinion is that FF has changed in the last 6 months and just got better and better
Pf was a stunning mag but seems to be a ( if your face fits mag ) same faces and names in there month after month after month ,
I still read Pf and look forward to it hitting the mat , but just feel that FF has uped there game plan a bit

FF has got TONS better, really is a bloody good mag, PF isnt quite as good as it used to be, but still good.
The Ford scene just isnt mega exciting at the mo tho TBH. Not much around that folk havent already seen.

Good points about the ford scene at the mo ,,
Nothing new about at the mo so FF and Pf have a hard job keeping it exciting these days
FF have got some great features due in the next issue and a couple more to come in the later issues of this year
But i would say that

Over the past 5 years I've had 4 full features in Ford mags.... 1 in PF and 3 in FF, I personally feel that the 3 features in FF (Magenta Saff, S1 and Fiesta RS1800) were really well done and I was 100% happy with the features and the mag seems to be getting better and better but as I stated b4 I think I'll give Retro Ford a try for 12 months on subscription when the other runs out.....
I think both FF and PF need to start looking at some of the mustangs and lightnings etc that are in this country for articles on as well as that Jap inspied 1.4 Focus or this 800 bhp ESCOS from Europe that seem to get in the pages every month ! I will only buy either of them if theres an article or a car I want to read up on these days and for the same reason im going to change my subscription magazine of Classic Ford to either PPC or the new version of CCC.

How times change
Steve.
Gotta also say I can't believe that last months mag had that ugly scruffy 3dr on the cover over Dave's Esc Cos... even the feature didn't do it justice.. most members on this board could have told you more then that feature.. IMO its been the most influential Escort Cosworth in recent years.. a mint car with tons of detail and clever mods that will be copied for years.. plus it was fucking british!
havent read it yet but some valid points. the american new fords scene could be a good addition. come on dave/nick what do you say? i know we had dannys lightning but surely theres more out there?on the whole i say pf is a top mag and i cant say ive been disappointed, but ff have upped their game because i went right off it when it was full of body kitted mondeos etc but now its a good read, inckuding stu's inputs!
Thanks for the positve comments on FF guys
its always good to hear feedback on what works and what doesnt.
and it is very hard to please everyone all of the time, there are only so many RST's and saphs etc that stand out from the norm.
but rest assured, we have a few things in the pipeline so keep tuned in
also, the next issue of FF on sale just so hapens to have a drag mustang in it, so get yer wallets out lol

ive always liked fastford from the first time i read it, with good quality cars and write ups, they know how to make a quality mag, and i perfer fast ford over performance ford, i personaly think the boys at fast ford have got more time for you, when you go to speak to them and you have more fun with them, when my car is finshed shortly, its going to be in fast ford.
I used to think Fast ford was shit, Performance Ford is slipping to where FF were. PF was good, used to have all the top stuff.. until one day they put the shittest Fiesta in I have ever seen.. why? weird.
FF all the way at the moment.

Dont you lot think ff has too many body kitted motors then pf??
someone else mentioned it and got 2 agree that its very expensive compared to other max power bull with creating a beautifully crafted rs!

I never really liked FF to be honest, never really took my time out to read it. It's always been PF, but like someone else said, it seems very repetitive.... same pictures, same faces etc.
And i do agree that Dave's escos should've had front cover
I used to buy FF all the time but got so bored of it that I would read it once and put it away. I then started getting PF and IMHO it keeps getting better with every issue. I totally think the PF boys are thinking outside "the UK box" and bringing more of what's out there I mean how many times can you feature one person's car? Sorry but I love the blue 3dr from Norway on the cover! I've seen what WRC escorts look like already. So one's friend wasn't on the cover and you all moan then he goes and breaks it!
I think FF might have finally smelled the coffe and woke up and started to get a once great mag going again. I also haven't seen bodykitted cars up in PF can't say for FF cause I haven't read it in a while but I do remember a year or so back this hideous yellow bodykitted (forgot what it was) on the FF cover.
I just say open your minds and accept there's other people out there doing some awesome stuff and PF were the first to bring it.
(honestly, not a paid endorsment!

i haven't seen this months issue but i can't say i'm too worried about it. for the past 9 months or so the quality of pf has been on the silde...and it all seems a bit cliquey? maybe they're running out of ideas?
ff are doing different things and the quality of ther mag in pretty much every area is stronger.

Can I ask an honest question to the "It's getting clicky" peeps?
Please let me know how it's getting clicky because I don't see it? Honest question here. How are they running out of ideas? because they've actually left the motherland in search of undiscovered awesome cars? So I'll wait to hear an honest answer
