They need to do something with Kiss 100..............it's shit. They can't even be bothered with Kisstory now and that's the only decent show they had / got...............

Here is the full storey:

Galaxy 101 was sold to GWR Group and Scottish Radio Holdings in 2002 and rebranded Vibe 101, but this purchase was subsequently vetoed by the Competition Commission over concerns regarding control of the Bristol radio advertising markek...................

Vibe 101 (currently broadcasting as Vibe FM) will be relaunched as Kiss 101 on 6th September 2006 as Emap integrates the stations.

Vibe 105-108 FM will also be rebranded as Kiss on the same date, and these changes will be implemented simultaneously with a major relaunch of Kiss 100, in which all three stations will receive the new Kiss logo and the revised Kiss format.

Emap recently gained clearance from the UK communications regulator Ofcom to network programming between Vibe 101, Vibe 105-108 and Kiss 100.

Emap have also pledged to significantly increase the amount of specialist programming on the two Vibe stations, with the minumum weekly amount of specialist output stated on the Vibe licences more than doubling from 16 to 36 hours.

 

Oh champion.............more so called 'R&B' and 'Urban' shite.............

 

Well lets hope the 'old' Vibe stations don't adopt the wanky playlists Kiss in London play

 

 

i must admit,i did wonder what was goin on this morning coz i normally listen to vibe. kinda miss the way vibe was but im sure the new kiss station will be ok to listen to

 

well vide101 has ownly got about 20 songs on its play list and just repets the song alday every day lol so i am sure the new Kiss 101 will be much better

 

shame the local stuff seems to have gone out of bristol and south wales.

i started listening when it was galaxy 101 and loved kam and sally in the morning with cormac mc mann as newsreader !

lots of changes since that.

anyone know if the stickavikka is staying ? a good welsh lad that lad who likes his beer and welsh roots !

 

i wondered what the hell was going on today, so its no longer vibe?

i do like the 'london type gansta' stuff sometimes when in london and i listen to kiss... but round my own way i liked vibes UK dance music, and now i can only imagine its going to be all lost and full of gangsta wannabee music!!!

apparently the new style "LOOK" is being unveiled on 6th !

when this new station for sw and wales was awarded i am sure it was ment to be LOCAL but i have read on other forums (or should that be fora - if i am being posh ) that for our area only breakfast and drive are gonna be local !

i just hope reece (our big fat valley boy LOL) is gonna still be sticking his stuff around the place OOOO AHHH ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!

 

thats what i thought carl. kiss does play good dance music, but vibe played some good old school tunes alot of the time. i wonder whats happening to all the vibe djs

 

dont know but if they get rid of them they have lost a good bunch especially from 101 !
hope the vikka lad is being saved - a big fat welsh boy like me
