Default Painting/Spraying a Car.. Compressor question?

Hi everyone, Im looking to purchase a decent, yet not too expensive air compressor and spray gun for painting my Escort Van project. Problem is Ive never purchased either of these 2 before and don't know what spec stuff to look for.

Ive seen the Draper 4212PRO Spray Gun
http://www.drapertools-online.com/b2...pp_skmno=88223

But not sure which compressor to use with it. Any help please? Im looking to sprend £300 on compressor at most.

Cheers.

Hi,

Try and get as good as you can afford for a spraygun, only thing is
with A good quality gun they use a lot more cfm,

You need to check the compressor can match the cfm of the gun,
my first gun i had from machine mart, it only needed a 2HP compressor,
and gave good results, i now have devilbiss but it uses a lot of cfm,
and with a 3HP comp it struggles, so match the comp with the gun.

and depending on what material you are spraying, you may need to use a respirator if like living ,and they can use up to 14cfm alone....

Thanks for the help so far, I just spoke to a company that says I will need a 3hp Compressor with 9.0CFM to run this Draper gun or any descent spray gun. This isn't a problem, but he also said I will need a 32amp power supply to run such a large compressor. Now that will be a problem

Is there any decent, yet cheap guns that can be used just to get me started? And a compressor to match?

Cheers
