ive baught a series 2 cts stage 2 box off a mate about 3 month ago, i gave it to my mate to get the gears taken out for shot peend & polished gear set but before he started he said it wouldnt fit in my series 1 becous of the mountings on the front of my car,,,, any help or just a new gearbox casing?

 

just fit a mk3 casing with the 4 bolts or a mk5 escort one is the same

 

is a mk5 definatly the same, how sure are you befor i go buy one, cheers

 

You shouldn't change the right hand side half because it's machined for the larger bearing. Officially you also shouldn't mix and match the casing halves as they are machine together as a pair. I've done this once though without any problems.
