Default Upgrading fiesta rs fuel pump?

Took the car to the rolling road only to be told "we wont do it becoz it has a fuelling prob"
Apparantly the t3 converted chipped up fiesta of mine on the standard fuel pump doesnt supply enuff fuel/pressure and can cause detonation?
Is this tru do i really need a escort cossie pump or an upgraded one to save my car?

What injectors are you using and what Psi are you running? If you got beige injectors then a Escort Cossie one will be a good idea.

But a fueling problem doesn't mean it's the fuel pump, other factors to consider

Standard injectors and 1bar boost will be the problem mate. Those injectors are no use at all at that boost pressure. 12psi tops iirc for FRST blues.

Cossie pump isn't essential with 195 but it is advisable. I'm running mine on th estock pump with beiges, 195 and T3 but the car isn't used very often and a pump is on the shopping list

I went for an uprated fiesta pump coz its a straight swap and handles up to 300 bhp it was 100 with postage
the cossie ones are about the same give or take a fiver but its from the shop on ebay and hey are brand new
u can find second hand ones but if they fail its a big problem so I recommend new ones here save yourself a lot of problems.

044 pump. It's exactly the same part number be it classed as Escort Cossie or FRST upgrade pump.

Can't use greens on the FRST, next step up from beige would be something like Audi 2.2.

Anyway, where in sunny North Wales are you??

I hope he's changed over to cossie managment/aftermarket ecu otherwise he's going to start fring ecu's. The cossie green's are low impedance. A chip wont do

Injectors are a bit more complicated on the Fiesta as without a suitable chip to run them they are next to worthless. Beiges fuel to about 225bhp before you need to worry.

I'd be asking who wrote the chip program and cost if I were you as it sounds like a bit of Billy Bullshit
