I am tying with the idea of purchasing one of these machines, had a go on both of them last night.

I'm one for my original games, I suppose like all my films are original DVDs. The question is, whichever console I choose, do I get it chipped get 300+ games and only play each one for 5 minutes?

Or leave it standard and get all originals and actually appreciate the hard work that has gone into each game? Read reviews etc and HAVE to be picky on the games I buy.

It would be taken to a proper place to be chipped, already got someone in mind should I take this route.

I'm not fussed about the warranty, because if I get it chipped and get say 5-10 games for a couple quid each, thats paid for the console itself.

If you want to get online with the XboX then chipping don't work

i would get a ps2 purely for gran turismo when it comes out.

no doubt i would have it chipped as well, just because you can and it gives you the option of copied games then.

 

My Xbox is chipped, got it linked up to my pc as well so I can transfer games and films across.

I've got a chip I can turn on or off if I want to play on Xbox live with my genuine games....

 

dont work ?? it works with the above chip .. no problem ..

 

You just need a chip you can turn off when needed and original games to play online with.


i buy copied games and if i like em, will buy the same one off ebay for a fraction of the cost (original) so I can play it live.


My XBOX also came with 4000+ games on emulators.

Sega, nintendo, arcade games, VIC 20 , Commodore 64, Nintendo 64.


Playstations are poxy

 

and the amount of utilities you get is unreal too

I have game X "copied" which I load up on my chipped XboX, then I connect to XboX live and play against others online?

i think what they are saying mate is copied games DO NOT work live.

not interested in utilities, thats what i've got a laptop for.

 

XBox every time, piece of piss to chip (unlike the PS2 ) and shed loads of third-party software for it.

 

xbox all the way, i personaly wouldnt chip it and as said before you can use copied games online, you can get most games off the net for 30 quid anyway and when you get a good live one like rainbow six etc you wont play much else

 

I bought a PS2 the day they came out years ago, its chipped which cause poop on some games, plus you gotta service the old ones cos of the bloody "non system disc error" that comes up, plus the dvd playback ain't that clever....

Got an Xbox about a month ago and it is SO much better, chipped to play multi region dvds so I don't need a seperate dvd player anymore

As for the point someone made about games on the PS2, yeah GTurismos good, but Need For Speed, Colon McCrae, Rallysport Challenge, Driver 3, they're SO much better on the xbox than PS2, trust me, I tried em on both

 

well I bought a PS2 when they first came out in japan, used it till just before they came out over here and flogged it on. Then bought a uk ps2 when they came out over here and had it chipped before it was even switched on.

Then when the messiah chip came out I had the old chip changed to messiah and it's been working 100% ever since.

I also bought a brand new Xbox and had it chipped before it was even switched on, only used it about 5 times in a year so fucked it off just before the prices dropped big time on them..

well seeing as I fucked the xbox off as I never used it and I still have and use the ps2 now, I'll let you guess
