Mahle standard compression piston set. 285. Mahle low comp piston set 425. why should I spend the extra. getting them skimmed is a whole lot cheaper, but my question is are the low comp pistons stronger does anyone know?????thanks

 

anyone know guys, as im doing a cvh rebuild next week and want to know if i should fork out the extra or just stick with standard mahles(realistically what i can afford)

 

the way i see it is machining some of the piston away is sure to reduce its strength

 

Hi mate. I looked into this, and as far as i could work out - mahle do not do a low compression piston full stop. They are machined std ones.

 

Depends on boost level completely. For ~20psi and under the standard ones are better suited.

 

280 for the set of standard ones it is then. cheers guys.
