Default My mate (Ashley) S1 rebuild

He bought this car as seen below and is going to get the inside of the shell sorted. Rotten panels and had fire damage in engine bay which has in turn probably affected the inside of the car anyway

This is currently awaiting space in the bodyshop for them to spend time on her and getting it at least in the condition he wants it - concours or near as anyway

He has a set of Azev A's in 16in with the car (looks very nice)
He does however need 2 front bodykit arches as the most important bodywork issue
An engine that's been rebuilt, but sure it's gonna be stripped and uprated again anyway LOL
I'll let him explain more about this...

More pics to be added when anything new is done

Here are the pics and i'm sure he would appriciate any advice you can offer him on what to do and how do to it

I recognise that plate - was it not in Fast Ford years ago with one of the first 1900cc conversions?

Looking really good mate, is he going to do anything unusual engine wise or go tried and tested.

Nothing better than to know that when it's all done, you know every bit oh that car has been done right and no horrors lie waiting to be discovered.

Top work and keep us posted, I will check my mags to see if it was featured and if i have a copy I will send you it.

matt, good lad

I have no idea what he is planning, but I can 99% guarantee he won't take any good advice regarding the engine LOL

Hello people,
thanx for the coments on the car, as vroooom said sometimes im not sure what iv let myself in for but hay what the hell
James now you know i dont take advice LOL.
One thing i do wanna do is keep the car looking like a strait S1 but im sure i'll find something alittle different to go under the bonnet as long as i use the 1908cvh that came with more history from ford, power engineering, turbo technics, graham goode and about 50,000 other performance and tuning places than my old history teacher on acid, which i have to add im sure he was always on mad c**t .
well cant really tell you much as im waiting on the bodyshop to finish the shell off just needs new floor pans the rest of the car is mint as it has had about Ł3000 spent on bodywork in about the last year .
well thanx for looking and if anyone has any advice i do listen to it really (JAMES) LOL, thanx again and i'll stick some more pics up soon also a few of the black 1900cvh S2 i now have and i must change my sig.
CheeRS *ASH*

Well i was wondering if a few of you could give me your advice.
i have a black S2 which in all honesty needs some work , it has mods up to the eyeballs and really i dont know what to do with it.
Soo iv had an idear, i now have a really mint S1 shell
and good engine to go with it , how about building something thats a S1 on the outside but building 1 better engine from the two,
also using the S2 dash, S2 seats (which i will be covering in white leather).
So building 1 car with all the best bits, basicly should i offer the S2 as a sacrefice to the S1?

Yep, mint S1 with all the tricks should be worht plenty more than an S2 and would defo be my choice.

Had a look for this car in the make, found the one that looks like it but was only featured last year and looked really mint so can't see it being the same car. Very similar thought (feature was around May 2003 in either PF or FF, haven't got the mag to hand)

It's going to look the Biz

Well if anyone feels like it - get the mags out over weekend and rummage through them

Ash, the S2 as you prob well know after towing it down road is TRUELY fooked ain't it

Give both engines to Gary and tell him spec you want from that, build the car arround the engine spec and you'll have a car that will be a fooking georgeous car let alone a mental one!!!

Do it properly and do it once mate

Well as james said the S2 is well and truly dead so my minds made up.
i now most people wont agree with putting S2 dash and other parts on the S1 but i will be keeping the standard parts so could be fitted back to the S1.
i want to build a car to keep and i prefer some of the S2 parts like the dash.
by the way the S2 was killed by a lorry running me off the road for 400 yards and i ended up in a ditch with two wheels off the ground .
