Default even i cant belive this one - dropped stud down exhaust!

cant fuckin believe this!! putting a new stud in the turbo > exhaust and dropped the bitch straight down the exhaust.

how can i get this out? tried magnet on spare stud and the bastard aint magnetic....disconnected the exhaust from the car but cant get it out without it being on a ramp i dont think...too many angles wont come out with car jacked up.

so whats my options? will it work its way to the back if i drive it or will it fuck something up (mongoose)?

any advice appreciated

just leave it - its not gonna do any harm is it? It aint gonna find its way back up into the turbo (unless you roll the car )

Get can of expanding foam
Find extension for plastic nozzle
Liberally lubricate inside of exhaust pipe with soap
Throw piece of string down exhaust past bolt
Squirt foam in bolt area
Have cuppa tea while foam sets
Pull string
Dig bolt out

Find foam is stuck inside exhaust pipe, cut exhaust pipe before foam - you got yourself a nice free flowing, really noisy exhaust.
Get stud out of foam.

Nah, forget all that, too much hassle take the exhaust off m8.

Good luck.

If your gonna do a job do it right! Get the exhaust off mate it's gonna take you more time to get the end result but atleast you aint gonna be worrying about the bolt in your exhaust somewhere.

you learn the hard way. yu'll only do it once, cable tie a rag over the end of the downpipe to prevent any, nouts, bolts or tools getting dropped down it as soon as its off.
