currently ive got a athlon 64 3200

would a athlon 64 3800 x2 be noticably better ?

Depends what you're doing, I'd say...

For single jobs, they'll probably about the same (they both use 2.0GHz cores, just the x2 has two of them), but for multi-tasking the dual-core of the 3800 x2 will stand out as the better of the two.

As said above, probably just doodling on the net etc you wont notice much difference(but there will be some) and then if you start opening loads of programmes, start msn, media player etc and especially games, the x2 will come into its own

Take it from me, ive got the Athlon 64 x2 4200 and its amazing

stupid question prob but will the pc start up quicker ?

logicly thinking it should if two 3800 cpu's are doin it instead of one 3200 or is that not how it works ?

not realy only and proccessor heavy thengs you will notice else no

but 2 is better than one

Agian, i should know as my last comp was a lowly celeron 2.6Ghz 1 gig ram, and my x2 4200 starts up into a usuable state in about 45 seconds where as the celeron would take about 70-80 seconds

Dont expect miracles though, i mean it will be slightly slightly quickly alround but as said above its more noticable when you start doing more labour intensive tasks
