temp gauge not working on S2??? any suggestions ??
its worked for the last week and then my mate pulled the clocks around when he fed the boost gauge wire and pipe through. . then it didnt work . ive under the clocks and slide them about and pushed all the connections in but it still wont work?? what should i be looking at behind the clocks and under the bonnet ??
you will have to put it in simple terms cos i aint got a clue about all the bits and pieces under the bonnet. any certain colour wires i should be looking for in or out the car ?

Check the actual contacts of the guage on th eboard as one of my cars (Can't remember if it was the Escort or Fiesta
) the plastic strip with the circuit contacts had pulled off the pin of the guage
right . you mean look at the back of the clocks and see if all the strips are stuck down. do you mean the pin of the needle or the pin on the board/clocks ?
and how do i get the speedo cable off . does it twist or pull ??? is it easy to get off or should i leave it ??
will the clocks come out with out removing the steering wheel ?

There's a small thumb point on it press this and it should slide straight off. You may be able to gget enough slack to slide the dials out enough to check connection. Remove teh trip computer as well as this is a handy little place to get your hand in.
ok if your looking at the engine infront of the car it is on the right hand side of the head rite next to where the hook (where you lift the engine from) is bolted to on the head there should be a wire pushed on to the nipple of the sensor! see if it is still connected.
the what ?? sorry mate but i really am thick when it comes to the engine. where abouts is it . which side of the engine would help to start me off in the rite direction. and what exactly am i looking for .
sorry

hes probably still looking for the temp sender or kicking the crap out his car as he cant get the speedo cable off and scratching his hands away from the hole where the fuel computer is

no need to remove the clocks completely, there is enough room to stick your hand round the back of them through the coin tray/fuel computer bit.
i had a similar problem and the plastic wiring strip wasnt pushed fully onto the back of the dials from where i had replaced them
