Default test drove my new car this morning

Went up to Sherwoods Vauxhall in Darlington this morning and test drove a 6.0 V8 Monaro. Jesus, what a car. Thoroughly impressed with it and the only thing I could fault was the Vauxhall badge on the front

Definitely getting one next year now after we've moved into the new house. Th engine noise alone made me nearly wet myself. Found the replacement for the Cossie, all I got do is save now.

LOL, its a 3 door, but yeah, it goes like stink. Fuel economy is err....not good..................ahem................19mpg.

Im looking to buy a 2005 non VXR 5.7 model. I don't want the VXR, too in your face with the vents and everything. Must be black as well. I reckon I can get one for around 16K. Some of the 2004 cars can be found for this money with low miles, so next year, there should be more on the market.

Cheers

Matt

Can't fault your choice Matt. They are great fun to drive and go like the clappers.

Cheers Cam.

I knew it had to be RWD and the V8 noise is awesome. Like I said above, nearly wet myself when the salesman turned it over

The latest Chevy LS motors are awesome imo. Tuning parts are cheap and as you say the V8 soundtrack is the mutts nuts. I reckon by next Spring 15k will get you a minter with low miles.

Darlington is not too bad now, its not as bad as I remember, but the football shirts and tracksuits thing is as big as ever

I saw one at the Tuner GP last year - 1/4 mile time was 16secs, not over fast at all - look good but waste of money i'm afraid.

Only if you're buying it based purely on speed. I want something quite nippy, but has all the toys and is comfortable. The fact its RWD and has a V8 soundtrack is a bonus.

Try keeping up with one on the motorway. They go like fook. One of the best runs I have ever had in the GTR was with a Monaro on the M69.

Yup, my Dad paid £14K for his brand new. Narks the hell out of me that we pay so much for cars.
