when you measure the width of an alloy do you measure it fom where the tyre actualy sits on the rim,ie between the inner/outer edges as opposed to the full width of the wheel

i would have thought it was the inner edges anyone else confirm?

why do you need to know this?

i'd guess it is the outer edge as a 195 is a 7j whitch is approx 7inches
