my electric windows fuse blows instantly as soon as i turn the ignition on. then wen u put a new one in they dont operate, yet they go up and down wen u link some wire to the battery and straight to the plug that goes onto the motor each side.
anyone got any ideas? where r they earthing points for the windows?
cheers

Bit of a long shot here mate, but.....
First check you using the right fuse, then try cleaning all contacts and oiling your window mechanisms and see if the motor spins freely.
Just thinking that if there are any mechanisms getting sticky or seizing the motor will have to try extra hard to move your windows, which will mean it will drag more power from the battery which in turn could cause the fuse to keep blowing. Also make sure on of the window switches isn't stuck on.
Worth a go I reckon.

Check the wiring between where the door hinges, wiring tends to break in there over the years of opening/closing, could be the ignition feed wire is shorting out to another wire which is earthed.
