Might sound obvious to some, but it is worth checking how much you end up paying if you pay by instalments.

Got two quotes today, one from RSOC for £720, other from A. Flux for £695.
I thought, bargain, let's go for A.Flux, then worked out that by paying by instalments, A.Flux works out £30 more expensive than RSOC. Guess who I am ringing now...

I did, can't beat RSOC on the premium, about £100 more expensive, same with Carole Nash, HIC won't event quote.
Tried www.moneysupermarket.com, I got quotes for £230 for a 2000E
Elephant and www.confused.com no use...

Why not get a 0% credit card and pay no interest for 9 months? Better than installments.

 

Fair comment, but can't be arsed with the hassle to be honest.
