Think the xr3i bottom will need bits doing to it for turbo to work i.e oil return ect

id use RST head and block and gearbox, fit efi maifold manifold with adapter plate, engine loom should plug striaght into car loom as long as is the the same (ofab ect) if its a late RST block? you got a hole ready for the cps (but u will need a fezzy flywheel for the teeth) or forget that and find a sierra 1.8 crank pulley, lower timing cover with cps on it (needs trimming) doing this u will need a sierra 1.8 alternator pulley and match up a belt. or forget that still and speak to Mr Jano Oddkid who sells trigger wheels and sensor for the cps bit

Think thats it matey

I'd just use the efi engine completely, just fit some RST pistons and drill open the boss for the turbo oil return.

te Escort bottom end (unless its a very late one) won't have the hole and flywheel for the crank position sensor so you would have to use the Sierra bits as RSTski said

you'd be able to keep the loom but you would need the OFAC FRST ECU, MAP sensor and EDIS module and change one wire. If you wanted to use OFAB instead there will be a few more wires to change

check out www.rsbible.co.uk for any more queries

Some ERST head have sodium filled valves, but they wont make that much difference, unless you are trying to build a super powerful machine i wouldnt bother in going out of your way to fit sodium valves.

Its not worth putting an MFi Engine into an XR3i That came with factory fit EFi to start with.

The MFi engine can be converted into EFi very easy by using a conversion plate on the head and an adjustable trigger setup on the crank pulley.

The CAR loom you have in the EFi XR3i can be used to run a FRST ECU and sensors.

SO:-

Conversion plate
Crank trigger setup
Management system, ECU, MAP sensor, ACT sensor.
EFi Inlet off any CVH engine.

Obviously the need for the rest of the running gear like T3 and zorst, rad etc..

Regards
Jano

(I have a sensor if you have problem finding one.)

Jano will probably stock all the bits you need for the trigger setup and no you won't need the adaptor plate if you use the 3i EFi head

As wes said.

If you use the EFi Head you will not need the conversion plate.
