i would like to attempt to change fuel pump on my FRST this afternoon depending on the murky weather!!

just any tips or advice from any clever people really

will i need to drop the bloody tank?

yes you will need to drop the tank mate as there intank pumps

simple enough to do as long as the bolts come out

think its 2-3 13mm bolts and the tank strap, undo the breathers off the tank and pull the tank down

you will have 2 pipes one red one ehite i think

use 2 very small flat blade scredrivers into the pipe connector and push the pipe should skide off as you push

then take the tank from under car replace pump and refit

 

only thing is i stuck 40 quid in it yesterday!!!! will that be a problem?

dont do it till its low on fuel an if its a fse fuel pump check the + - before you if it

 

It will probley be fucking heavy and make it more of a pain id try and drain some out

 

hmmm, right i wanted to get it done before sunday but aint goin to happen

only reason changin is cuz its fucked

do you think it will be a problem doing the 0-60 strip in a frst with this problem?

thought it would mainly lean off 4th gear full boost?

Mate it aint a hard job once you get the tank down it takes 5 min's to swop the pump the bit that will take the longest is draining some of the fuel out

 

what if i come across a problem and then cant get car doen in time for sunday!?

yes but i can drive the car, as i was advised not to cain it in 4th and 5th till its done

 

better to be safe than sorry mate really......will take bout half hour to an hour, could get messy with the petrol though....but defo worth doing

 

Fuck that i would'nt want to drive it with a fucked pump if it gose why your there thats a nice bill for a flatbed to get you home
