Owned my Escort for now for 3 glorious weeks. Heads have turned in astonishment as I've cruised around with the wife like a monk, never biting and rarely going beyond 4000rpm. So today was its weekly fill up and thought I would do me sums for the mpg. ( I know it shouldnt be done ). Fuck me, 17.8mpg the calculator said. Sure the wife has been giving it a good thrashing when me backs turned. Does this seem about right?? I knew it was gonna be thirsty but expected 21-22 at least.
Never mind, moan over

Until the compression/cams/ head are messed with SUBSTANTIALLY, the fuel economy will be no different when cruising at 30, 50 , 70 etc mph no matter how much boost the car is "Capable" of running. Especially on an escos that is closed loop as STANDARD and should retain it through all stages of tune.
Maybe a suspect chip has been fitted that has disabled your closed loop? I see that Far to often sadly.

Mine recently returned 32mpg on a trip to teh ring, so anywhere between 32 and 22 seems to be a good guesstimate for almost ALL cossies.

Translated it means ," worth every fucking penny mate", off boost you get the consumption of an everyday runabout, on boost it reverts back to being a Cossie basically, a lot more benefits as well mind but thats the main one
I know a lad in Sunderland has an Auralis and there was a Q reg knocking about a yr or so ago but never seen 3 of them. What colours your mates monte never seen that ethier
