how many wires go onto starter motor?

I got 2 wires and 1 plug...am i right or have i got too many?

will try and get a picture up to show yous

u have one wire coming from battery, and one going to alternator. These share the largter terminal. u have another for solenoid.

its the fat black one on the right im not 100% sure if it does or not.

i know the plug and the skinny wire on the left definately do.

just double check that that one with the black conduit goes straight to battery +ve.

U have another one, goes to a starter motor mounting bolt - which goes straight to bat -ve

yeah thats what i was concerned about.

that being said the fat black wire in the picture has a terminal(hoop bit on the end) which is too small to fit a starter bolt through so i was quite confident that its does go on the starter but i couldn't remeber for sure.

thanks for your help lads will go and crack on now!

Oh and dave_y, make sure you are careful with the starter bolts, they are known to round off

pmsl, i shall never forget how much i HATE starter motor bolts lol.

its all on and secure now, i can't see how that starter heatshield is gonna fit over it there is a bout a 1mm gap between it and the downpipe.

I've seen those magnex ones before they are shocking.

Fuck knows why they are made with that curve on the down pipe!! Worst idea ever, get a mongoose/scorpion and they have a much more gentle curve and are quite a bit further away.

most after markets exhausts fault sumwhere, ive got a mongoose n it scrapes on everything, mine only 25mm lower
