I would buy a cheap set of plates and some velcro and keep them in the car at all times.

Some cops will look on this that you knew you were illegal, and others will let you off if you change them.

Basically you're fooked either way. You will get stopped a lot though for them.

My mate used to get stopped for small plates all the time, and eventually the cops just took them off him. Then radio'd the traffic cops while he was in the car, telling them to look out for a grey RS Turbo driving towards his house with no plates on.

Evil cunts!

I have a back number plate in silver and black and dont even have one on the front at all.

I use my car a fair bit and have only been stopped once in the 6 months it's been on the road and that was on the way to Southend for the PF meet.

I do carry a spare set of plates just incase they do decide to confiscate by black one.

Cheers

Paul

Had a set of italic plates on my S2 many many years ago. Got stopped once and told to remove. I thouhg the chances of being stopped by the same plod twice were nil so didn't bother. I was wrong and was issued with a VDRS

Figured I'd be safe then I mean cahnces of the same plod three times must be a million to one. Bollocks to that thinking I was stopped again and it went to court where I got fined Ł150 I now only run legal plates as I can't be arsed to deal with the pointless grief.

Mind you I left my plates on from Brunter and thundered home. It was only when we stopped at McDonalds I realsied my hiccup

i had them on the car for about 4 months now.

got stopped the first time while parked in a petrol station. cheeky bastards!!! got a thirty quid fine!!

The second time got told to put the originals back on their and then and then got a ducking producer and had to get the car re M.O.Ted because i had tinting film on my rear lights which the *unt didnt like. bearing the mind the car went through the M.O.T like it i dont see what his problem was.

the best bit was they asked me why i put them on the car so i told him straight. They look better!! dont think he liked that!!! hehehe

what can i say bloody essex police.
