I got the 3" bore with 4" tailpipe for my S2 over a year ago (I think), and in the last 6 months (again, I think) the exhaust has split twice.

The first time was where the exaust joins near the tubo, which was welded up as it was blowing quite a bit.
The second time was a few inches lower and was blowing even worse, this has been welded up since.

Just wondering if anyone has had this before ?

 

Not sure ive heard of it splitting, but loosening off the turbo elbo nuts is fairly common, all that is needed is a flexy section on the downpipe-centre section, could always try a mongoose downpipe as it has a flexy fitted. another thing to check maintime is engine mounts

 

Your engine mounts are shagged mate. The engine is moving too much and causing the exhaust to move. I had this, but it snapped the manifold studs.

 

yup, engine mounts, i had the same thing, split mount, only mine wore the exhaust housing on the turbo instead n pulled it to bits

 

So its new engine mounts (where can I get 'em from ?)
... and new Mongoose down pipe ?
