Question for you Jim

My ropey old PC runs an 850mhz AMD Duron processor

Can I stick this straight into it or will it need another motherboard as well??

gurnE, depends on what motherboard you have mate...

although to be honest its UNLIKELY that you have one good enuf

altho...

13quid for a mobo + 38quid for a 2.0ghz (XP 2400+) + 40quid for 512mb DDR266 ram (all plus vat) is rather cheap... and you'll notice a MASSIVE speed increase...
