A very sad way to start the day.
Morning all, sorry to start the day in a sad way but I've just got home from work (see avatar left for what I do)and I need to get some feelings out in the open. In the early hours of this morning we attended an RTA involving a sierra cosworth, it could of been any one of you.I cannot talk about the casualty, the incident or the car, but it was the worst thing I have ever had to do in my life.
Please all slow down, don't think it won't happen to you as it can.I sincerly hope that it isn't any of you , or that you know the involved.Throughout the incident I was going through all your signitures in my head and hoping I wouldn't recognise the car.
We still havent heard from the hospital but I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Stay safe everyone, please, and thankyou for letting me get this out in the open, I feel better allready, and my best wishes go to all concerned.

Andy - just from me - thanks for doing the job you do.
Its a job yeah, and it pays the bills, but sometimes you have to deal with awful jobs like these. I know my mate is a fireman up here and I do get to hear some horrible stories from him too at times.RESPECT

Respect to you Andy for the work you guys do - it's all too easy to just 'expect' you guys to turn up and sort out our mess, i don't think anyone who isn't actively involved in this sort of work can imagine what it can be like. To most of us 'going to work' is just that, worst we have to worry about is whether the kettle is working...
Just try not to let it take over your head, easy to say I know..

Nath, not heard back from ya, you allright?
At the time it really was a case of "we're just doing our job" it wasn't until now though that it's sunk in.I've had a little
and I feel much better, cheers to you all for your support but lets remember that a fellow Ford enthusiast a fair bit worse off than me.Hopefully Nath can shed some light on it for us.
I've only been in the job for 9 months and this is my first bad one, the worst one is allways your first apparently,I'll be fine by this afternoon,

I know exactly what you mean mate, in the heat of the moment im doing my job also (hospital) then when you think about it it hits home, wanted to get a motor bike but i won't have one now, especially when someone comes in after hitting the back of a lorry and dies before you can get them to theatre, fine one minute then dead the next
something blew in his chest if you get what i mean, not nice

sorry to hear that mate.
Last night i also witnessed a 3 door sierra cossie in bristol have a horrific smash. Luckily nobody was hurt in this one but it could so easily have been a different story.

Nath, although families will of allready been informed by the police(which I think could be an even harder job)I'd hate for people to find out from me, hence me only mentioning my feelings and not the incident.I know you will but please tread with caution, I'm sure you know what I mean, cheers Buddy,

i know a few of the local firemen around here, definitely under publicised how important they are to the community. we would all notice it if there was a strike!
