Replacing Clutch
Ok so im gonna replace my clutch before I get my car chipped as the original Ford one is goosed and I have a AP organic heavy duty puppy to pop in... Any hints and tips or links on changing it? Cheers
Well actually I have, and hes a mechanic but I just wanted to give him a few tips if possible... What is wakward, what to look out for etc.. Its been a while since hes done a CVH clutch... Any ideas, tips????
Have the car up as high as you can get it makes life alot easyer
cvh clutch's are fairly easy to do the only thing i fine a pain is lining the box back up
but if you have use of a car ramp then it's alot easyer

errrm, have your flywheel skimmed before the clutch goes back on, and use a clutch aligning tool, makes life very easy.
the abs modulators are a pain cause they are right at the back and there is little room to operate.
overall its not that tricky to do, i managed to do it lying on my back with the car on stands.

Yeah I've just changed the box on mine this weekend.
Did it on my back on the drive and to be honest it wasn't as bad as i thought it was gonna be.
Like dave y said the abs modulaters are a bit of a bitch but not overly hard.
Just be careful when your lowering the engine down to slide the box off that it doesn't slip and fall because it will make a right fuckin mess.
