fuel pump priming
I need alittle bit if help. The fuel pump on my 1990 s2 does'nt prime when I turn the ignition on and the car can be a pain to start first thing in a morning. Can someone please tell me what I should check to get the pump to prime.
Chances are the relay is breaking down, if it doesn't prime but the car will run then the relay is shot.
Have you got the cold start valve connected, a classic for making the car start poorly when cold, try disconnecting it if its connected currently.
The lack of priming will also have an affect on starting as the fuel pressure isnt being raised prior to starting

its the relay. Its not making a good contact so its not priming, if you press the connection down you can hear the pump prime.
Does anyone know if you can sitll buy these new?

I expect the terminals inside the relay have come unsoldered, open it up and have a look, very easy to re-solder.
You can buy new, about Ł25, or i have a few second hand ones i would sell if it helped you out?
