best way to prime a turbo?

Default best way to prime a turbo?

fitted my turbo back on my car but havent connected the oil feed yet. whats the best way to prime the turbo with oil before i connect it up,

is is just a question of pouring oil in?

fit the turbo oil feed pipe disconect the coil leads so car dont start turn the engine over for 10 seconds job done

The way i've always done turbo priming (and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) is to disable the igniton, either by taking a fuse out the fusebox - or removing the spark either from the coilpack or at worst - taking the HT leads off...

Then with the oil feed connected to the turbo and the return disconnected - crank the engine until oil comes out the return - then connect the return again...

the way i have done it in past is to first fill turbo with oil using pump can into oil feed .then start car holding shaft for about 30 seconds to get oil flowing then let her spin . may not be right but hey so far its worked for me

I normally stop the shaft spinning for 10secs or so aswell.
