Default Got my roll cage fitted!!

Just gotta make sure i don't roll it now!!

I've had it in a little while now but just haven't had any time to take any pics.
Its 2" polished stainless steel from 'Fusion' (cheers Stoo!)

Im well happy with the way it looks!

Fitting wasn't quite as east as i'd hoped and it came with a few very sharp corners that had to be grinded nice and round and also i didn't use the self tappin screws provided, but hey, nothing in life is dead simple!

Once its in tho it fits lovely and doesn't foul on anything and up to now i've got no squeaks or rattles!!

Can't see much in this one!

Good!?

I did think that myself, sorry Stuart.

I don't understand why people fit these show cages, will do NOTHING to protect the people in the car, and you still can't have people in the back. It looks like someone could pass through the gap between th roof bar and the roof.

But if it flicks your switch...

Here y'ar guys. 6 point OMP. Cheers to Jooster for doing all the work

Had to strap and ratchet the rear to get it to fit and bolt the top door bars to the front... good bit of practice for the rally car [btw this ones not for show ]

this pic is from an angle, so looks a bit like its not in flush on the left hand side, but trust me, its central, I have the bruises to prove it....

had to get some harnesses for now as the cage fits like a glove and couldn't use original seatbelts

in the end its whatever floats your boat. i think chrome cages looks nice might not be a safety measure as such but then thats like saying why don't we all drive around in horrible looking cars

Does anyone supply half cages for the ERST so you can still keep the back seats in there?

Most of them can be used with back seat mate, just don't have the diagonal bar/s fitted/welded.

IMHO, bit of a waste of time though really cos they won't add a great deal to the rigidity of the car.

If all you're going for is the look, collect up all your old toilet/kitchen roll, stick them together in a roll cage shape and paint them. It would probably have the same overall effect

First 'brom' says whats the point of a cross beam held in by clips and then 'Tony' says you can't get people in the back!? Well the whole point of the clips is that if i DO need to get more than 1 person in the back which i prob never will, it can still be done! Considering i don't track my car or drive like a tosser i didn't really need to buy a purposeful cage, thats why i bought a show cage because thats what it is for..... show! And why? Well why not make the back of ure car look a bit more impressive as apposed to an empty boring space? The 'Kiss My RS' thing is a theme that is associated to my car, its on the number plates, its sand blasted onto all my metal dials in the car and my girlfriend got the stickers made up for me so im hardly gonna say cheers luv and throw em away!!? Im all up for positive and negative comments but sometimes it just seems you can never win on this site with some people!

Well i think it looks lovely

I didnt realise everything on your car had to have a purpose - thats a new one.

Obviously no one needs a nice car then, no one is allowed to have personal touches on one, cos all you get is digs from people.
Not saying everyone should have the same opinion but he was talking about the roll cage and how it looks, not stickers, not jubilee clips but the cage...

I think the point Tony would make is that with a roll cage (show or real) if you have passengers in the back and you have any type of accident you will more than likely smash there skulls in on the roll cage unless they are strapped down with a harness too

So its safer not to have any passengers in the rear when a roll cage is fitted

If you allow people in the back of your car without warning them of the danger, with a roll cage then your a fool, simple as! You have an accident and they will almost certainly hit their head on the bars. Now unless they are wearing a crash hat then I reckon it will hurt quite a bit if not kill them. That is the point I am making.

I have a removeable diagonal in my car too, but still won't have peopple in the back willingly.

Stu mate, remember me from the PF stand at the Surrey show? Just thought I'd stick my quids worth in, for those that don't like stus car, you haven't seen it in the flesh, it's a minter, even though his missus might have dubious taste with stickers [and music if I remember correctly ].

As for whether or not it looks any good, if we didn't all have different tastes it would be a sh!t boring world. And most of you ugly blokes would NEVER pull

As for the roll cage causing problems for people in the back, fair point tbh never thought about it. I may put the rear bench back in and take a couple of ex girlfriends out for a spin.....

Thats exactly why i like modding so much - everyone hates my pink stuff but then when you get the odd 'thats funky' you think its worth it...

At the end of the day, i reckon half of ur cars cant have anyone in the back cos the weight is a bit too much for the fat wheels under the (even rolled) arches!!!

BUT ive seen a few people with Passion Ford stickers in the window snaking all down the road, burning out to at leat 80 in a 30, then they pull over and get a baby out of the rear car seat - now that IS taking the piss!?
At least adults have the right to say whether they get into the back of an RS with a roll cage or not...

'Paddy' mate ure an absolute legend and of course i remember you! Cheers for ure comments bout my car, and you and a lot of other people are right when you say everyone should be different when it comes to modding, (even my bird and her obsession with the colour pink!) Ure car looks like its coming on a storm too mate since i last saw it! I was really hoping to go Donnington this sun but have just found out im not going to be able to make it, but make sure you PM me and i'l do the same if ure going to any meetings in the future!

Oi you mr paddy fella - the missus is listening dont you know?!!!
AND i do not have dodgy taste in music - i am educated!!!

RSTuart had his say for the stickers - metal monkey did them free and if he wanted them he did, if not, i wont sexually starve him: he can do whatever.

Cozzybrom, dunno if that was a touchy touchy to me but please do not cry: Be happy. I cant stand it when a bloke cries - unless its when he's watching 'Fox and The Hound' now that IS sadder than a Nova with a motorsport sunstrip and neons.

Stu mate, try and come to the Arborfield [near Reading] meet next wednesday or the Surrey RSOC on tuesday 7th sept [I think] which is a bit closer, would be good to meet up again

As for the rest of ya muppets, you don't know what style is until you've seen me on my fully neoned honda vision road warrior [thats what my stickers say]. Its got a bass bin in the pizza delivery box on the back too.
