Default Piston Rings, this is a strange one.

been phoning about getting prices of piston rings for my RST. now 2 of the motor factors told me, that AE piston rings will not be suitable for modded turbos, they can only handle standard boost. they said you will need to find uprated piston rings.

thats news to me

so a phone call to burton, they say that standard rings will be suitable no problem.

now im at the stage where im beleaving Burton as they know there stuff, but would like some input from so people please on experiance

cheers

N/A CVH and RST rings were originally different but identical in measurements so interchangeable. AE only makes the N/A type of rings that fit the RST well, but are not of the same material. Burton however sell both N/A cvh and RST cvh rings. The difference is not that big anyhow. Both will work.

Granted most motor factors people know diddy squat, but to actually inform you that they are only suitable for standard boost they have to of been prompted to say that, I.E the reference book indicating so........Its usually a case of missing out important information, not openly telling you it so i'd steer clear of the AE ones
