Yes. They all left the factory with ABS

 

Came as standard on all s2's m8.

 

what even the early ones?
ive seen a genuine early s2 with no sunroof and no electric windows!!

 

ABS wasn't optional on any of theml, the early S2's had the option of a sunroof, electric windows, Recaros and electric mirrors

 

I swear very early S2's had it as an option

I thought the early cars had it as an option and it became factory fit after 89.

Mind you I wonder how many cars still have the ABS as mine certainly doesn't anymore

A friend of mine has a very early D plate S2, and im SURE it doesnt have ABS although haven't seen it for a while, and it also doesn't have Recaro's which she told me was an option on the early ones and i must admit "lying bitch" rolled through my mind

 

No m8,recaro's were an option on the '87 cars.

 

I had one of the first D plate S2's, registered Aug 86 and that had ABS...but the buyer also took the options pack of electric windows, mirrors, central locking, the whole lot.

As far as I know, ABS was standard on all S2s.

 

I thought it wasn't and that was why we got away with ripping it all out?

well mine is 1987 with abs if that helps. it's also got minimal options. i.e only sunroof and lecky windows.

 

well the way to find out for sure is to see if anyone on here has a s2 turbo with no abs but with 4 pipes coming from master cylinder

Mine had all that inc colour coded wing mirrors, not black as stated (all bar the paint options: was standard rosso red).

 

there's a thread in gen disc about the ABS and MOT stations, I think the gist of it was that if there is no evidence of it ever being there the MOT tester can't fail it for not having it even if it came as standard
