Default Blue smoke when changing gear

Did a track day at Donnington the other evening and when changing gear got a noticeable puff of blue smoke out the back, asked my brother on the pitwall to watch and see if it was like it when on boost but he said only on the gearchange, anything to worry about? Car is a series1 and i must admit to topping the oil up before going on track to just above the max on the dipstick.

Cheers PaulT

Over filling it with oil can cause this to happen. If it's not already burnt off the excess, drain a little bit out.

yea, as daz says. Trouble is, in one sense u want as much oil in on track because of oil surge in std sump. Other than that, it's the stem oil seals. Easy to fix.
