well people will tell you bad things bout everything but there are alot of factors to bare in mind. As above ferriday do a very good package and regarding the 1.9 cvh they can be very reliable it just depends whos built em. But yes you can bolt your head up to one, and ferriday uses zetec pistons in his conversion by the way.
a young lad had one in his escort cabriolet a couple of years back, 1.8 from the sierra and it run like a bag of shit,he had no end of problems with it it used to go up the road popping and banging and misfiring.he then scrapped it and went on to do a 2.0 zvh conversion,so from what ive seen id give it a wide berth.

if it's done properly then you will have no problems.like i said mine has been running for 3 years and it has NEVER missed a beat!! and i do at least 4 track days a year in it.
