i dont really want to use bonnet pins as it means drilling a genuine bonnet and changes the apperance
but it looks like i might have to go tohe bonnet pin route

tie a bit of wire to inside of bonnet skin with a d bold or carabena (sp) on the end, clip it to arb or anything solid at the bottom of car

Its probably the adjustment of the catch, there are actually a few adjustments you can do it.

Give it all a once over how many people do you know that look after the bonnet catch and keep it in good order....

The plate in the slam panel will have very minimal adjustment with the screws loose, and you will also be able to adjust the positioning on the striker where it bolts to the bonnet, and you can also adjust the tension of the spring on the striker.

Have a look at the catch in the slam panel you may find its worn and thats why, but you shouldn't need to fit any other means a standard catch when working properly is very good.

Mine hasn't flown up on the rare times ive taken it round to its max of 130mph (touch wood now ive jinxed it )

the only way to adjust the bonnet height is by screwing the springy catch on the bonnet

alot of pattern bonnets lift at hight speed as the bonnet skin comes away from the bracing where it is bonded
mine seems to be ok but ive seen others that are bad

Seriously don't put the bonnet pins on it will look shocking

If you are that worried why not buy a new catch and striker as someone has already suggested, could be a good opportunity to add a bling chrome one

Bonnet pins are very GAY

Also, get a new bonnet release cable asthis could be sticking/kinked ,holding the catch half open all the time.
