Hi just fitting xr4x4 calipers and discs, dilled and grooved to my S2. Got the old b*ollox stripped today when sun went down as was too hot today. Before we continue may aswell get some tips.
Do i need spacers for this conversion as my kit didnt come with any.
Will this kit sit behind standard 15s.
http://www.zetec-turbo.co.uk/ shows a picture 6th one down on the left
'Repack the wheel bearings in grease and refit the hub and clean its face, then apply some copperslip grease to the face' is my S2 hib different to the s1. It sits inside the drum right?
I have EBC grooved pads and discs up front, will i definately have to fit a bias valve to stop rears locking.
Anyone know a thread with s2 pics and details.

Are they the same calipers are granadas/scorpios/sierras have on the back? (and the same as in the conversion on the S1 on that site?)
The hubs are the same, the drums seperate from them.
When i did mine i used washers to space the carrier over the disc centrally.
Do you have rear apportioning valves or fixed rate ones? I run fixed rate, and so do a lot of others, alleged to be the best way to run it.
That site is pretty good i don't think there is much better to be honest
Any questions i'm sure i can help you

hi mate all i know is there xr4x4 sierra calipers, are the spacers easy to get hold off. Also i need 2 new split pins as the once that come off were rubbish. Were can i get these from. At the moment i dont have any adjustment valves the guy that sold it too me just said try it and if its not ok, he has a valve he can sell me.
Look at the pictures of the calipers in that S1 conversion on the site and see if they look the same. I think they are.
My spacers are just washers, if you go to a fasteners they will have thick and thin washers, mine needed one of each per bolt to get the right spacing.
Your car will have one or the other. Does it have ABS?

hi mate when you first click the brakes section they are like that. Were shot blasted and gold the same, although we painted red as it was worn. Even the bracket looks exactly the same, and i know theres a few different types floating about.
No abs left.

No abs left.
Yes they are the same as mine then.
If you have removed ABS i expect you still have the rear valves, which will cause you fun and games when bleeding them........but means they should never lock up.
The majority of people though run without the rear valves, and just have fixed rate ones under the bonnet.

If you look underneath the rear, you will see 2 valves hooked up to the rear wishbones (and if you don't it doesn't have them obvio
) but i can guarantee it has if the car once had ABS.
I've never known them not to need washers, otherwise the carriers foul the discs, its about 2-3mm spacing you need
