hello i have just got my erst back from being re built and i have run her in and everything even thought its run in still taking it easy but i have a little play now and again. when i put my foot down and the revs get to 5k there is a noise from the exhaust which sounds like a machian gun whats is it anyone have any ideas o yeah it is running airfilter exhaust and a piper cam but still the standard ecu (running in purpose only thought)

 

It's detonation. The single worst thing that can happen to an engine. Keep it up any longer and you will either have a hole in your piston, or a rod throught the block.

it's caused be either a very lean mixture or more than likely, too much ignition advance.

 

how many miles have u run it in for?

wouldn't still be giving it stick yet just after a rebuild!


anyhow if uve done 1000 miles on the rebuild take it and have it rolling road tuned needs setting up properly !

most tuners wont run a car on the rolling road until it has 1000 miles on the rebuild!
