Default coilovers on an s2

ive just put my s2 back on its wheels after a resto during which ive fitted gaz coilovers, i was a little concerned at first as the clearence between the coilover and arch was minimal, now though ive put my wheel back on and it rubs on the spring!!!

is this normal
