Default Attn: Mk1/2 XR2 - ZVH/Zetec owners!

I can't get access to xrtwo.com to ask this at the moment, but I'm stuck with my alternator bracket.

I've got a Mk2 XR2, with a 1.8 Zetec bottom end.

I want to fit the RST alternator, but can't!!!! I've tried fitting the RST, XR2 and a random Ford one, but they all have space issues.

I tried the standard XR2 alternator and bracket, but this still has fitting issues - all hit the X-member (if pointing upwards) or hit the tie-bar (point downwards)

If the alternator points upwards, the fins will chop into my water pipe from the radiator, then will restrict the access for the same pipe to go into the water pump.

Do you fit a ZETEC bracket and mate that up with the CVH alternator?
I noticed that the Zetecs don't have a drilled and tapped hole on the block to attach the adjuster bracket to, so it must be a bracket with the drilled and tapped hole on the side.

Any ideas????

Please see my rebuild thread for the pics of the brackets.

I tried it again last night.

The issue that I having the alternator swinging downwards (XR2 bracket) is that the alternator adjuster mounting hole seems to be 180 deg round where it should be, thus hits the X-member when I tighten the belt.

Included in that issue is that the only way for me to put the adjuster on is with a series of brackets, to reach round 180 deg to mount onto the alternator.

Any pics of the alternators mounted up would be brilliant!!!!
