Performance mods for a Mk6 Fiesta 1.4 zetec
My girlfriend is understandably complaining about the lack of performance she is getting from her 54 plate 1.4 Zetec Fiesta. Especially since I got my 4x4 Saff last week
. We've looked at chopping it in for an older S2 RST, but she does do a fair few miles everyday and needs the car to get to and from work, so the older car would probably be the wrong move. What minor mods can we make to increase the performance?? I'm not looking to spend thousands or change the engine etc. Figures state it is 80PS, so even to increase this by 10 or 20 bhp would probably make a big difference.

Exhaust and air filter and a chip maybe. TBH any real gain is going to cost so it woud probably be best to either get some laughing gas on it or trade it in and get a Zetec S or something
Considering we don't have £5k+ to buy a Zetec S this is not an option. It's a nice idea, but not likely.

just an induction kit will give 1 or 2 bhp increase. stick a cat back exhaust on aswell and your looking at about 5 bhp increase in total. then bluefin it or similar an you should hopefully get an extra 10 from that makin bout 15 bhp more than standard.
these are only rough estimates.
oh an dont get one of these shit resistor mods off ebay that say an extra 20bhp cos they are crap an fuck up your engine!

i'm currently modding my MK6 zetec, at the min i'm working on the looks of the car. once these are finished I'm getting a manifold, exhaust system and air induction kit. after that i will be saving for an engine remap which i've had mechanics estimate me £300. but they are probably the best mods you can do for performance. if getting a manifold get the 4-2-1 manifold since this should improve the throttle response and acceleration. if you get the 4 into 1 manifold its going to be more top end performance. but like you i have the 1.4 so i'm looking for the acceleration. you can get a good manifold for about £100 - £130 then hopefully like me you know a few mates that are merchanics. hope this helps.

i think that you hould put on a de cat sytem then slap on a level 6 ecu maybe sum cossi green injuctors get it remaped and then lower the car on a full set of coil overs and a big boy k$n fillte
