Zetec-S is Group 8

Also has a fantastic engine for n/a tuning.

It's modern and reliable too

170 on a Phase 2 engine for under 2k

Zetec-S would get my vote as well. Good handling, reliable newer than the others

4-2-1 exhaust mainfold and nice system pref with a sportcat

The right cams for the job ( pm for details ), raised rev limit and a remap. With any luck will see 140-150 bhp. I'd recommend a phase two Z-s as the cam follower arrangement is more stable at higher rpm. However the cams are an arse to fit as the valve clearances need to be set with ground 'top hat' shims, so theres a bit of work to do there.

All that with T'bs you'd be seeing 170-180 plus, but you'd need a few bottom end revisions and new management

for cams 4-2-1, zaust remap etc i'd budget

Cams £4-500
Zaust £270
4-2-1 £270
Sportcat £200

Cam fitting, valve clearances set properly with ground top hat shims - £3-400

Custom remap - not an off the shelf chip - £4-500?

So at least the thick end of two grand if not more.....you could go ARP rod bolts for safety but you wouldnt be revving lots more over standard unless you went the TB and wilder cams route
