Default Metal purchase

Can anyone help- I have a hole in the floor of my escort that I need to weld up, now I've been on welding courses so thats not a problem the part that is however is lack of metal.

Where can I get some metal plate from so that I can weld this hole up?

I'll bet you only want a small amount?

What about looking in phone book for classic car restorers or bodyshops and popping in to a local one and asking if you could have an off cut to suit your size?

Get yaself down to the local scrappy and get a smached up bonnet of something, if you only need a lilttle bit the damage on the bonnet wont matter....
