Where abouts in the States?
That will depend alot as to products available and what stores (if theres any locally) will be stocking.

Pepboys or Autozone will be the best bets and are relatively common place much like our Halfords.
Walmart is the other big place... The US version of Asda.

They all sell things like Meguiars and the usuals.

Unless your more specific with an area theres no way of finding a 'proper' detailing store nearby.

Cheers.
Alex.

Ask him to order your some Poorboy's stuff, or ClearKote which is brilliant on reds

He'll still have to order from the net, as not many shops stock them, even though they're US brands, as the profit margins are slim compared to stocking stuff like Meg's. The finish the products give however, is well worth seeking them out!

Claying removes bonded contaminants from your paintwork - the only way you'll get them off - and enables all the following polishing/waxing etc stages to work better, as the products can work to the best of their ability. You'll be amazed at what claying gets off if you've never done it before...

Go for the Poorboy's clay, an excellent moderate strength clay. You'll need a quick detailer to use as a lubricant - ClearKote QuikShine is the best one there.
