i think my turbo on my fiesta is getting knacked because sometimes it whistles really loud and dosent boost then if i take my foot off the throttle and floor it again it suddenly works ok any comments p.s i dont want to put a t3 on it because its in a mk1

 

Hvae you looked for leak's in the boost hose's Split hose's can cause things like

 

just been looking over the weekend i think its the actuator how can i tell if its knacked its not over boosting but when i take the air pipe off to it should you be able make the actuator move by sucking or blowing the pipe and i dont mean that way either

 

You will only be to tell if the actuator is playing up on a rolling road but if it's old then might as well get a new one as they can go weak over time as the spring inside get weak and it won't boost as hard

 

there is a way of testing the actutator but its not the best, what ya need is a lenght of hose and a small hand pump with a guage, pump it up and make a note of what pressure you get to when the rod starts to move and the pressure when its fully out.

as i said mate, its not the best way but it will give you a good idea if its completely fucked
